40 lb Single Shoulder Rail Tie Plate 1/4" Thick
Kimes Steel's light rail tie plate of forged steel is used for 40 lb per yard ASCE rails. It protects the ties against wear and helps maintain gauge. The single shoulder design prevents outward expansion of the rails. This plate can be ordered in 1/4" and 3/8" thick materials. The 1/4" thick plates are 4" wide x 6" long and the 3/8" plates are 5" wide and 6" long. These plates are normally punched with four 9/16" spike holes, so that the rail base overlaps 1/16" of the holes. Tie plates of other widths and hole punching can be furnished upon request. 1/2" spikes are normally recommended for 40 lb rail.
